Why is it safe to enter a password to connect to Openpath?

It's never a good idea to share a password with any site other than the one that authenticates the password.

However, Camio has made it safe to enter your read-only User Role email and password as a convenience to retrieve an authorization token used to lookup the names of entries and people.

  1. the password is never stored or logged by Camio.
  2. the password is sent to Openpath using TLS 1.2 encryption.

If you're technically oriented and prefer not to enter a password, then you can instead copy and paste the token in the response from this curl command:

curl --request POST \
--url https://api.openpath.com/auth/login \
--header 'accept: application/json' \
--header 'content-type: application/json' \
-d '{"email":"readonlyemail@yourdomain.com", "password":"YOURPASSWORD"}'
