Connecting Axis cameras to Camio Visual Agents for Video Analysis

This article will cover how to integrate Axis cameras directly to Camio Visual Agents without the need for an edge gateway device. This article will cover how to setup video analysis.

 

Configuring Axis Recipients

  1. Navigate to local network page of the Axis Camera (example: http://10.0.10.30/)
  2. Navigate to System>Events> Recipients
  3. Create a new Recipient and set type to HTTPS
  4. Set URL Endpoint
  5. Check "Validate Server" and save after validating

Configuring Visual Agents

  1. Navigate to System>Events>Rules
  2. Add a Rule and name it Camio Visual Agents
  3. Check "Use this Rule"
  4. Set "Trigger"
    • Set the trigger to use human motion
    • Set pre-buffer and post-buffer to desired lengths to determine video start and end after motion detection.
  5. If you are running on a schedule; add the schedules as your condition
    • Add multiple conditions/schedules if needed
  6. Set Action as "Send video through HTTPS while rule is active"
  7. Set Recipient to Camio Visual Agents
  8. Under Custom CGI Parameters add the following (replace "{{variable}}" with your value)
    • camera_name={{name}}&access_token={{Camio API Key}}
    • Example
      • camera_name=Garage&access_token=12345
  9. Leave Create Folder, File Name, and Maximum Sequence blank or as default values.
  10. Camera View
    • If there are multiple views you'll need to set a rule per view
    • The rule can be copied so complete this rule, copy it, and change camera view (schedule if needed as well)
  11. Save the Rule
