Step 1. File a support ticket or contact your integrator
Before filing a ticket, go to the Camio support page and locate the Camio Flex 1132A box in question. Note down the MAC address associated with the device.
To file a ticket yourself, email support@camio.com. Please include the MAC address from your device in the ticket, the email for the associated Camio account, along with as much information you have about the state of the device.
If your box was set up by an integrator, inform them of the state of the device, and provide them with the MAC address, and have them file a ticket for you.
Step 2. Receive a replacement micro SD card
Once the ticket is received and reviewed, a new Camio Flex micro SD card for your device will be issued. Please allow for processing and shipping time.
Please do not attempt to use a non-Camio provided micro SD card, as only the one provided by Camio will have the software to connect your box to Camio.
Step 3. Locate and unplug your Camio Flex 1132A
The Camio Flex 1132A comes in several case designs, but most likely looks like a small black or white box with a white sticker on it with the MAC address. It is most likely located near your networking equipment like a router or network switch.
Before doing so, it is advised you clean your hands and ground yourself. You can do both at the same time by washing your hands and then touching a metal faucet that is connected to metal pipes. A metal server rack will likely be grounded, so touching that can ground you as well.
Carefully unplug the usb-c power cable from the device. Once that is removed, carefully squeeze the retention clip on the Ethernet RJ45 plug, and ease it out of the device. You will be plugging it back in later, so we do not need to remove these plugs from their other attachments.
Step 4. Remove the old micro SD card
On a clean workspace, with clean dry hands, turn the device over and locate the micro SD card. It is likely red, and quite small. About the size of dime. You do not need to disassemble the device at all to reach this.
Gently slide the micro SD card from the device. Sometimes they get stuck, so you may want to use your nail to push the card out. In more serious cases, tweezers may be used, but be careful, as these can slip and damage the device.
Once it is out, place the card to the side. A sticky note can be folded into a temporary envelop or tray to hold this card. If asked to return the card for analysis, please make sure to send it back to Camio directly or via your integrator. Otherwise, this card can be thrown out or destroyed.
Step 5. Insert the new micro SD card
Using only the card sent by Camio, insert the card into the device. No need to jam it in forcefully, just put it back in to the level the previous card was in. The card may stick out a little, but should be in as far as it can go without force.
Step 6. Plug the device back in
In the reverse of the order before, first plug in the Ethernet RJ45 plug, then the usb-c power cable. If your device was mounted or placed in a shelf, you may return it to that position.
Step 7. De-register and re-register the device to your Camio account
Navigate to the Camio boxes page at camio.com/boxes. Locate the your device on the left and select it. Then from the top right hand of the card for the box, open the drop down, and select: "Delete".
Once it is deleted, re-register your box, using the same MAC address you noted down in step 1:
- Go to https://camio.com/box/register and enter the MAC address, then click the Register button.
- Once your Box is registered, click Next to go to your camio.com/boxes page
It may take several minutes to register the device. If it fails to register in 10-30 minutes, please try unplugging the device from power, waiting 30 seconds, and plugging the device back in. The time can be variable based on your network speed and settings.
If after several attempts it still fails to register, please update the ticket or your integrator on the situation.
Once the device is registered, you can double check your camera settings and re-enable them on your re-registered device.
